Well, things are really snowy here! We are getting one heck of a snow storm! Thought that school would be called off today...but, no! D4 is sick, so today will be stay-in-pajamas-day and stay warm!

Well...I have been really lax in the posts...we went to sunny Florida for a MUCH needed vacation! All is well...the girls are burnt and are learning to swim! We are staying in today to recoup!

Wish that I would have brought my laptop and found a free wi-fi service. I am at the library now. Boy...some of these people are so rude and think that they can go on these "timed-computers" whenever they want and don't ahve to sign in! I just got into a fight with this guy... what an a#@!!

Well....putting more and more boxes away...does it ever end?? I was never sure just when we were going to move again so I just left stuff in boxes. Nedless to say, I have accumulated a lot of boxes with -- stuff I had been looking for (like the Christmas lights that we didn't find until AFTER the decorations were up and we found a few straggler strands for now), stuff with trash in them, stuff with dotations for Goodwill, stuff I will never use again, empty boxes. If you've moved a lot, then you knowwhat I'm talking about! Well....FINALLY...I know that we won't be moving again for a long time, so I can unpack all of the boxes. So...I've been unpacking a couple of boxes here and there. My -- ummmm....office...if that's what you'd like to call it (more like a small cubicle with room for two people!) had SO much crap in it!! I thought that I would go through a couple of things...see what I had so that I could make some other Christmas gifts. WOW! It's amazing what you can come up with when you can actully FIND things! These are a few designs that I came up with with the beads that I had... I also made a pair for D2. I don't have a pic of them -- she wore them to school!

The last ones are for me. I know...but, free advertising, right??

Neighborhood Nucience

Remember the cute little puppy that DH found a couple of weeks ago?? Well....there is a dog in the neighborhood -- whose owners obviously don't care --that wanders all over the place. I know that it is a boy, because yesterday I found them "playing" in the garden!! Chased him away and thought that I would need to keep my eye out for him when I let our dog out.

Well, this morning....6:30....I heard yelping. I didn't know that DH had her out still, thought that she just wanted to come in. I went outside.........yep, they were "playing" again!!! ARGhhhhhh!!!!! I really don't want puppies. It furiates me that people can't be responsible to chain up their dogs...and if they get loose---- GO GET THEM!!!!!!

Needless to say, she smelled so...I don't even know the words, but I'll just say bad...that I had to give her a bath just now. I have a very sensitive nose and I have a feeling this poor dog will be a pretty nice smelling pooch all the time!!!

Well....now that everyone...kids included have been bathed, time to do lunches and get the older kids on the bus!

Snow!!

This pic was taken the other day after school. All of that has since melted and we have more...and are due for more tonight and tomorrow morning! This is the one that I think I will use for Christmas cards. I wanted more snow in the background - towards the back pasture, but how can you pass up the first snowman of the year??!!

Since I still have not gotten "snow" mittens - the kind that the snow sloughs off...I had to make a quick pair for D3 since her other ones were wet an dirty and I didn't have enough time to wash them (since I couldn't find them when she was done with htem!). I am still having a problem with the thread on my sewing machine snapping for some reason - does anyone know what the problem may be? I thought that the tension and everything on it was "fixed". It's a brand new machine...and this is one of the reasons that I had stopped sewing -- getting frustrated because of the thread breaking!! Well...time to start evening chores and such....Have to get ready for "the game" tonight -- Browns vs. Steelers!! Go Browns!!! ^j^

New Addition

This is why I haven't been posting! Her name is Reese. She had been on the side of the road for at least three days. My husband's boss tried to catch her, but couldn't. It took my hubby quite a while for her to come up to him. She was so scared. I don't know if she was abused...she's very skiddish, but is adjusting very well. We are still having a house training issue, but...hopefully things will get better soon! I am not a dog person, but she is a very sweet dog and will not leave my side. We really do get along well.

All of the girls were sick as well! It started Sunday morning about 3am....and finally this morning they all feel fine!! Yesterday was a snow day, so that helped with any missed days! Boy, what a shocker to wake up to so much snow! I didn't know it was even supposed to! We do have a lakefront snow storm alert in effect starting tonight and through tomorrow night...they are talking about 4" - 8" by tomorrow morning...but, will continue to snow!!!! This ought to be interesting!

HELP!

Remember the felted purse that I was making for my mom...I took her knitting bag and proceeded to finish it for her?? Well...turns out she bought the wrong kind of yarn...and I didn't check it!!

Oh boy...not sure what I'm going to do...her party is this Saturday and I don't have time to re-knit and felt another one!!!

It just keeps growing and growing...I was going to pitch it---but as I'm typing here... I think that I may back it with some fabric and make a pillow out of it! I guess it does help to vent sometimes...you never know what kind of ideas you'll come up with!!

A huge hole in the oil pan.....OMG!!! Talk about panic! Yep, and just in time for the holiday season....We are already NOT in need of another bill or payment of any kind!

My mother-in-law says that if we didn't have bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all! But...I try and think positive as much as I agree with her---all of these things are happening to us for a reason. What that reason is, I'm still not quite not sure.

Needless to say, hubby had to work on this the whole weekend! Damn Fords!! ^j^

How unbelieveably ditsy....I can't believe just how easy it is to make an I-cord. I had tried figuring it out before by watching people and video. I just somehow couldn't grasp it. I think what it was was that I didn't keep going long enough to see just how it was working--I think that I DID have it at one time!

I pretty much had to force myself to figure it out, because I needed to make them for the felted purse that I am making. I was going to rush to get it done for her actual birthday....but, I'm trying to find the perfect "baubles" for it -- so I will give it to her at another "surprise" time!!

Well...she is also retiring at the end of the month...so I think that a partaayyy is in order!!

Felted purse

Last year my mom and I learned to knit. One of the personal projects was a felted purse. I LOVE them! They are epensive to buy, so I thought that we could make them! Well, it was pretty easy, and I had finished mine quickly. My mom, however, did not, it was still in her knitting bag and was very twisted up! Well, she has a big birthday coming up and she really loves the purses as much as I do...so thought that I would "steal" her knitting bag and untangle everything and start from scratch---WOW.....What a mess!

My mom does not really knit anymore, so I knew that she wouldn't miss her bag. I bought more yarn...and am almost done. I do ned to learn how to do an I-cord, though. I do have instructions and have tried it before...to no avail! But, I will try again.

This weekend is a football weekend, though...What a shocker about Bo. This is going to be one heck of a game! I'm sure that he'll be watching. And, the Browns play Pittsburgh....so, I will be knitting and watching the games!

Thick & Thin

I bought this Thick and Thin yarn from JoAnn's quite a while ago. Now that ripping walls down, painting, decorating, putting beds up, etc...has been put on the back burner for a while, I am finally getting back to doing crafts. And what a good thing that is with Christmas right around the corner!

So...I knitted it up and came up with this scarf! It was really fun to work with. It did take a while to get used to, but I really liked it!

Well...now that we have finally settled into our new home...I thought that I would continue to post...a lot of the decision was because of a new craft friend whose blog that I enjoy very much. She has wonderful ideas!

This was the dining room.....now, it looks like this....(mess and all!) I still haven't finished painting yet...all of the paneling will be GONE! Paneling is nice...but cheap paneling and ALWAYS having paneling has gotten quite old!

Our three girls FINALLY have their own rooms -- painted as they wanted. They still need curtains and rugs and canopies...but, at least they are not sleeping on the floor and they have the paint color and designs they have dreamed of! This photo is of D3's jungle room. Still have to add monkies from the ceiling and a few various things...

Remember the kitchen? Well, it now has more of a Naples, Itlay theme. The cupboards were painted white and the walls are burgundy and cornflower yellow.

The shelves in the breakfast room will not be there, but until hubby completely re-does the mud/laundry/cloak room and build a pantry....it will have to stay - or at least something will! Eventually, we would like to redo the whole entire kitchen---but that won't happen for quite a few years!!

There are many gifts to create for teachers, etc... and I think that looking at other blogs, going to craft groups is a BIG help! I love being able to share ideas! Plus, I feel kind of guilty just lurking around and getting great ideas and not showing what I have been up to! I will have more pics of things that I have done -- re-created, etc.

The girls had a double birthday party over the weekend. It was really cool...the Mad Science guys hosted it. The kids had fun and it was a neat learning experience, but...I'm glad that I didn't have to clean up after all of it!

Packing and Painting...

Well, continuing to pack boxes, bags, do laundry, etc.... Hubby called me to tell me that he found a REALLY nice tub for us! We are trying to get this house in a somewhat "liveable" state ASAP. We are moving in two weeks....Oh wow...only two weeks!!!!! Somehow, I just don't see it!

I've been packing, taking everything off the walls. When hubby came home last night to show me the tub---WOW!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! How lucky we were! Some new homeowners didn't want it, and it couldn't be sold...there are a couple of dings...but WHO CARES! It's BEAUTIFUL!!!! Since he had a bit more room in the truck, he took some boxes and a small kitchen table that we will put in our breakfast room...and since we are having people over for Memorial Day Weekend...I thought it was a bit important to have things to put food on, etc....

Hopefully, we will start painting this weekend!! Maybe then things will start sinking in and this "shell" will start looking more like our new home! I am so excited! Here is the kitchen. Since we aren't able to redo it, we are going to temporarily fix it with paint---and LOTS of it! All the cabinets will to be painted...and that backsplash......well--not sure what I'll be able to do with that yet! And the breakfast room will need to be tied into the kitchen as well! Hopefully, I'll be able to get this all primed at least.

We will be out at the new house until Tuesday....so, no posts until then. Hopefully, I'll have a lot to update you on!

I know.....I have been taking quite a break from my blog.....I'm sorry!! We are in the process of moving---YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I have boxes, bags, clothes, etc...everywhere. The new house is about an hour and 45 minutes away and we have been going there every weekend (some weekends - like the last two we didn't get very much done at all...we were sick!!). Things are finally starting to take some shape, though...drywall is starting to go up and we will be painting this coming weekend! I hopefully will have my mom and my mother in law to help!! After some pain is up, it will finally start feeling more like a home!!

Last weekend was hubby's birthday...we celebrated with his sister, brother-in-law and nephew -- and his parents came up from Florida!!! It's so nice having the family all together.

Well, it's now time to get the mound of dirty laundry started...it will all be freshly clean and ready to be used again this weekend! Arrgghhh!!!

What a Klutz!

When I was a kid, I used to sprain my ankle all of the time...I was constantly on crutches. Well...I did it again yesterday for the fist time in a long time! I had just picked the kids up from school. We were walking home and at the corner of our street they were flushing the hydrants...D2 decided to push D4 in her stroller through the gigantic puddle -- I yelled to have her stop...needless to say, they went through and were on the other side of the street...I was watching where she was going -- not watching where I was going an missed part of the sidewalk where it is MUCH higher than the grass......down I went!! Right in front of the traffic, the hydrant guy and an office building!! Oh boy! Well...after the intitial shock of what had just happenend and the pain got a bit more manageable...one of the guys in his car said "hold on..I'll be right there".

What was he going to do? By the time he would have found a place to turn his car around, park it....I just wanted out of there. I told him that I appreciated it, but that I was fine. (not!) The hydrant guy helped me up...and some of the people came out of their office wandering what was going on............Just me, falling!!", I said.

So, I hobbled home with a death grip on the stroller.....just get home!!!

The girls were such a big help...and continue to be today. Boy...haven't felt pain like this in a long time! Too bad I can't just relax with it up like I'm supposed to! And...since we don't have insurance (hubby and I), I can't go to the doctor. Hopefully, it's nothing!

Well, it's rainy today...lucky for me!

Crash and Burn...or Burn then Crash

OK....why don't I just learn that when D4 is outside playing all day that when she gets home - and it's evening, that she will just crash on the couch...and not get up till morning??!! I have to learn to give her a bath RIGHT AWAY!! After playing out all day...she usually needs one! That said, the bath will either wake her up so she can eat dinner or.......at least make her clean so that when she DOES crash on the couch she's clean for bed!!! At least they all had fun today...played on the neighbor's trampoline and dress-up. I had to fight with her -- holding her on the potty for 2-3 minutes so that she would go in the potty and not her bed! Arrgghhhh!!!!

They have had a fun year with all of the kids in the neighborhood, but now since we'll be moving in a few weeks...it will be sad for them. I know how it feels though to have to move all of the time--I was a Navy brat and we moved A LOT, so at least I can relate to how they are feeling! They know that they will be meeting new friends, but the older they get -- the harder it is. Luckily, I hope this is the last time we move...at least until they are in college!!

Well...in the craft realm -- here is a little bird's nest I found on the ground on the way to pick the girls up from shcool...I think I'll use it in a wreath! D2 suggested that I put blue malted milk balls in there for eggs---yea, right! They would be gone in a flash...and I be replacing them a few times a day!!

Sweaters

Well, since I made a sweater for D4 - which was really by accident. I had started making one for a 6 month old, but the yarn and extra stitches made it WAY larger than I had anticipated! I used a boucle and was not about to rip all of that out--what a pain! So...I finished it for my 3 year old!

So, of course I need to make one for my 6 year old and 7 year old. I taught myself a new stitch. I actually found this stitch while looking though a book...she called it a "textured stitch" similar to thermal undies (?!). It was for a tea cozy. I really like the stitch...it looks like a seed stitch to me. So, I thought that I would try it. I really like it and after the sewaters are done, maybe I'll make my daughter and son-in-law a tea cozy!!

New Bedroom

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while...well, I'm not sure if anyone even reads this!!!!

Here is a nicer view of the back yard, sans snow!! I love it...nice and peacefull!!

Anyway, things with the house have been keeping me away from blogging! These pics show what our new bedroom looks like!! Actually, it has been cleaned up now, but...it's just a shell right now! Hubby has really nice plans--we are both REALLY excited to have an actual "grown up" bedroom!!

We were over there for Easter weekend since the kids were on Easter break -- why then...I have NO idea!! Really didn't do too much, just hung out. Since Hubby has been living over there pretty much, we don't really see him often, so it was nice to just hang out and talk.

I've been starting to pack...need MORE boxes! Well, since we JUST moved here last July, there are some things that haven't even been unpacked---basically for the simple reason that I knew that we weren't staying here, so why unpack! Glad that was how I was thinking!!! We did most of the massive throw-away/give-away last year! That was just massive! We had SO MUCH junk!!!!!!!!!!! This move should be much easier! The only thing is is that the house won't be done, so we'll have to manage! The girls' rooms and bath will be done and hopefully the living room...as long as that is done, it should be fine!

Hope you have a wonderful day today...it's supposed to be 75 and sunny today. I think that after we drop off D3 to school----D4 and I are going to the park!! We need a little break!

If you can't get enough of that home made ice cream taste then you're going to love this!

These ice cream balls make home made ice cream in just 20 minutes flat with no magic tricks. All you have to do is load the ice and rock salt into one end and the ice cream ingredients into the other. Roll or toss the ball around and voila!......ice cream!

It was actually a bit warm today...very nice considering.....it snowed AND STUCK yesterday!! C'mon.....I thought it was spring! They say it will be in the 70's by Wednesday. Hopefully so, because I thnk that we are going to our new house over the weekend!!

Last weekday of Spring Break!

OK....so, this is the last day of spring break...and it went pretty well! Our new house closed on Wednesday...so we are headed out there this weekend! Hubby spent the night out there last night already!!

....Something about a pipe that burst----doesn't sound very good! I guess we'll be useing a bucket to pee in!! Too bad that we have all girls!! ha ha ha ha ha

Oh well....this, I have a feeling will be the first chapter of many in the "Tale of our New Home"!!!

Spring Break - Day 1...

Well....so far, things have been fine!

But...it's only 10:00 am!!!!!!!!! Here is a pic from D3 that she created on her Leapster - she wanted it to be posted on the blog so that everyone could enjoy!

Knitting class is tonight -- yea! I really look forward to that. Tonight I need to learn how to fix stitches so that I don't always have to rip the stitches out! I think that things are going pretty well, though! I love to knit!

It is Mothers Day in England....my daughter and son in law sent me these beautiful flowers and tea pot!! How thoughtful!!!!! I can't wait to use the tea pot -- this is my first "real" one...besides the one that stays on the stove! Today is also her 21st birthday!! It's hard to believe! They had a nice party with their friends...and after talking with them on the phone--it sounded like a really good time!

I had promised D1 that I would make these little tea bag/coffee bag holders for her and one for her mother-in-law. Since they DO live in England, I'm sure that they have every tea item (except for a tea ball!!)....I don't think that they have these little holders. I thought that I would make up as many as I had buttons for. The prototype that I had made previously didn't really work - the material was way too thick! I think they turned out really cute!

So, now they are done and I have to get them in the mail! I have another "birthday package" to sent the BOTH of them, so I will just include them in there!

Projects Galore!

Well, I've finally finished my felted purse! It was actually finished a while ago but, I re-felted it so that it would be a bit tighter.

I think that it turned out really nice.....although, I don't like the stripe in the middle--too flimsey. The next purse that I make, I will either not make the stripe so large---or delete it altogether!

I have also finished my first baby sweater!! The knitting class that I'm in kind of asks you to make a layette...which I think is really nice. They are going to new mothers at a local hospital. I thinks that's a fair trade-off!

Well, as I'm posting this...I'm trying to make dinner......D4 has fallen asleep and D2 and D3 are ripping the living room apart and playing dress-up!!! Hubby isn't home from work, but by the time he DOES get home, it will look like NOTHING has been done around here!! Time to get them to round things up and get stuff put away!!

Purse almost finished!!

Well...I have almost finished the purse. Here is what it looks like now -- before I felted it....

I went to the library and got a few more books to get some ideas on designs. Since I still really don't know how to read a knitting pattern - I'll probably figure out a way to make it MY way! I'll keep practicing, though. I did get a DVD from the library that may help out quite a bit!

I guess I'd better try to learn all of this and do some practicing now because pretty soon, I really won't have time -- we're getting a house and will be moving hopefully this spring!! It's going to be a lot of work, a lot of sweating, etc.... We have a lot of ideas and are so excited about it!! We will be living about 8 -10 minutes away from my sister-in-law and brother-in-law and their soon to be two kids!!

It will be a nice country life that we have wanted for a long time!

OK...enough about that for now...I'll keep you updated!

New Projects!

OK...well, here is a pic of my first knitting project...a felted purse! I'm so excited to be able to learn how to do this!!This is just the first stage. I knit on round knitting needles - (called knitting on the round) using two strands of wool. When I've completed the knitting of the body and bottom, then "sew" things together and wash it. That's when it gets felted!! I'll show you a picture of the finished product!

I've printed out numerous other things that I would like to knit and knit/felt...just need to have the money to buy the yarn---and TIME to be able to make them!!

I've also made a prototype of a tea bag/coffee bag holder. You could also put creamer and sugar packs in it so you'd have everything with you! I received one a a gift...but changed it a bit. It can be made with any materail color combo and closure. I don't have one on here, but it could have a tie or button closure, etc...
I have some material that D1 picked out. Now that I've done the prototype to see how it will be -- I'm going to start on these asap!
That's it for now...time to take D3 to school!!

I Learned how to knit!

Finally! I can now do basic knitting!! I'm going to a class with my mom...we are learning how to make a felted purse. It's actually pretty easy--easier than crochet, I think! Well...either that, or because I'm so new...I don't know just what to be scared of yet!!

These purses are beautiful, though! I know that I'll be making to sell along with some other goodies that I have new-found patterns for!!

I also am going to make smaller versions for make up bags and larger ones for carry-alls!

I'm blind....not much hair left either!

Well.....here, finally is the blind that I had done months ago for D2's bedroom. I think it beats the regular white one. It was really easy to do....just used acrylic paints in a color to match her duvet and stamp butterflies in the lighter color of the two. I applied the darker color with a sponge brush.

Yesterday D4 decided to give herself yet another haircut!!! Yes....this one was pretty bad!! Bad enough that I had to cut 3-4 inches off the back of her hair to TRY and even things out...but, to no avail! It will be several trims before things get back to normal, I'm afraid! Oh well....it does grow back!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...actually, there is a post that I did that is not showing up for some reason! Don't know why! It had to do with the school carnival...which was SOoooo much fun! We stayed the entire time, and D3 won two cakes from the cake walk!! Good job!

I have been a bit busy with D2. She had to have some tests done in the hospital. She did such a great job...very proud of her!! Things went well and since this was the first time in the hospital--we took pics! You know me...always with a camera! I actually bought a new purse to be able to hold the camera and my "mom calendar"!!

Tomorrow we go to the allergist.......I'll keep you updated!

School Carnival

Tonight is the Annual School Carnival! Since this is our first year here...we are all anxious to see what is in store for us! I have been told, however, that there is Pie Throwing at the Principal -- which we HAVE to attend! Poor guy!

I think that this is a really nice idea, though! It gives the kids something to look forward to in the middle of winter...although, it has been EXTREMELY warm and nice this winter. I'm sure that we will get hit HARD soon!! We could never have it this easy!!!

Well, time to straighten up -- around the house and the kids...and get to the carnival!

Anyway, I thought that I would be even more creative....I tried to make some out of actual photos....NOT a good idea! Don't even try it!

The photo paper and the glue are definately NOT friends!! So, I made them again but......I don;t think that the magnets are strong enough! I made them for my mother-in-law--I need to call her to see how they are. I might need to make them a bit stronger! I recommend the thicker magnet!

Well, D1 and her hubby went back to England....it seemed like they just got here! I had SUCH a great time!! I hope that they did too...I know that they got a lot of well deserved R & R!

I actually had done another draft post of the "Last Day" here...but, with everything that was going on between doing last minute things with them, getting everything ready for their trip back, getting the Christmas stuff down and getting the girls back on a regular schedule-- I never posted it!

Well, figured out ... well, mostly....still having a bit of trouble with the software, but got the majority of photos downloaded. I will show some new projects tomorrow!

'Tis the Season

Well...it's been REALLY warm here...in the 50's. Because of that, everyone ends to get sick....including D4!! 'Tis the Season!!

She's has not really felt well for the last two weeks.... but not enough to really be concerned. Well.....that all changed this am! Thank goodness that my eldest daughter and her husband are here...they were able to stay with her while I drop off and pick up D2 and D3.

Dr. thinks that it's a sinus infection...so, antibiotics and clear liquids....

Time to pick up from Girl Scouts! I will be uploading a picture of the blind that I did for D2's bedroom window---turned out pretty nice!

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season....a very Merry Christmas and a terrific New Year! My resolution for this year is to keep in contact with family and friends more and to keep up with the blog a bit more!

I inherited my daughters lap top and got a new digital camera for Christmas AND a ton of help from my son-in-law figuring some things out...these items should make it a bit easier to keep up on the blog things!!

My eldest daughter and her hubby have been here for the holidays and it has been wonderful!! I will be so sad when they leave....we will be keeping more in touch, though.

D2 and D3 go back to school tomorrow....it's been really nice having the home, but I'm getting tired of hearing "I'm bored!!"...and it's only been the last two days that they have been doing that!

White, wonderful washcloths

Well....washcloths are on the agenda this week. I'm making some for gifts, and some for myself. I've used this same pattern for dishcloths...and they work great! I thought that I would stick some in baskets for friends and maybe the teachers.

OK...why do kids NEED to ruin things? It seems like JUST as I get things orderly, looking nice, and finish a nice craft...something happens and one of the kids ruin it!! But...why do they have to ruin soap? I bought those Kids Supersudzers---they are really cool and smell good. Now, D2 picks at everything! So, of course...she just HAS to see what's inside the Supersudzer. So, she picks a whole in the washcloth like material on the outside! It's SOAP, D2 !!!!! That's all! Nothing fancy! Of course she denied doing it...........

Terrific Tie Dye!

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while...my camera has been "acting up" and i haven't been able to take the photos that I want.....promise, I'll try and do better!

Well---here is the finished tie dye project! I think it turnes out pretty well...considering that this is the first time in about 20+ years that I've done this!!

The girls really liked them and hubby was really surprised (yes----I CAN do thngs like this ....ALL by MYself!!) LOL!

I've dyed the curtains a light purple as well....so, they are finished --except for some blinds and things up on the walls.

The next project is to paint and stamp D2's blind so it doesn't look so industrial-white!

Tie Dye Tango

Well....hope that everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving! D2 and D3 are home from school today. I have been in the process of redoing the bedrooms for the girls. My friend was nice enough to give me a beautiful set for D2 (she wasn't into blue anymore). All I have to do is some small things on the walls and headboard......Well, that means that D3 and D4 HAVE to have theirs done NOW!!!! So...trying to think of a cost effective way to do this (as always!) she wanted purple...then pink...then Hello Kitty.........so, I thought we'd compromise! How about tie dyed pink AND purple?! The tops and cases turned out great...BUT, I ran out of dye for the bottom of the duvet and the dust ruffle and had to run to K Mart to get more (of couse they were out of the pink that she wanted!!). She settled for purple.

After scouring to find two bedruffles and fighting the crowds today for the dye, I think that I'm finally ready to finish this! I'm going to dye the rest...I'll keep you updated!

No school!

Well.....for some reason there is no school today. I was told it is because of a staff inservice day...but other sources have told me that the teachers wanted to "have time to be able to vote". WHAT???? When I worked outside the home, I had the usual half hour to pick up my child, rush over to the polls and cast my vote with minutes to spare!! Oh well, I guess for some reason it isn't that easy anymore!??!

Anyhow....I have been trying to get other things organized around here, so I WILL have time to sit down and crochet and TRY to teach myself to knit. I still have to get moving and get these scarfs done before the cold weather starts! It has been UNSEASONABLY warm here!! I am going to run some errands this am, and hopefully the girls will cooperate with me and I will be able to get some crocheting done!

Starting Scarfs

Since I STILL can't figure out how to put this logo in my photo area...I guess I'll just drop it for now! A guy by the name Bob has sent me an email saying that he could help---but I still haven't heard anything back! Oh well...I guess it will be blank until I can figure it out!

Well...I have started two different color scarfs...here are some of the components. I am making them out of either regular squares or granny squares...hopefully, they will turn out ok!! They are for all four of my daughters, but...I'm making extra because usually when I make something, someone else wants one!! No problem!!

I have been cleaning out my office / craft room and it's like Christmas!! I have found things that I have been looking for for two years!! It still is in dissaray, but it is getting better! I just need more shelving or storage places...all I have right now is two small filing cabinets and a five shelf thing that looks like it's going to fall over! Oh well...do with what you've got, right?!

OK......I admit...I am very new at doing all of this but really---can it be THAT hard??

I'm trying to get a logo photo in on the right and was told by the blooger site to download a program called Hello....I downloaded it--now, I can't get on the Hello site. It keeps telling me to "check my connections"---ummmmm, I think that I'm connected, seeing as I'm ON the internet!!! If anyone has any ideas, could you please fill me in?? Thank you!

I have too many things going on and about five things that I need to start.....and that doesn't include presents that I need to make for various friends, teachers and othe aquaintences!

Then.......I need to practice sewing, need to learn how to work with FIMO clay (or a brand like it), learn how to knit, learn other crochet stitches, etc...............
